After some calm seasons, Eritrea Pro Cycling has reached division 5 again and is keen to stay there and even become bigger. The manager of the team Ronny -
also manager of the Eritrea's National Team since its startup - has scouted some new talents and wants to give them a chance to shine.
The team realised if it wants to compete in better divisions, it has to accept more non-Eritrean riders and participate in way more races than they did before. Lenzie Warriston is a class rider and could handle easily 4 more seasons as team captain. Tadese Fikadu is a very decent young Eritrean talent and currently Ronny is training two talents. TT talent Carmine Failla and Eritrean rider Beraki Sileshi. One more rider is coming from Latvia, although he will only sign his contract on day 50.
Future's looking bright after a calm period. But it is also a appropriate moment to look back into the history of the team. It produced world class riders, like Yonnas Lelisa - who had 98(!) appearances in the National Team and currently still active Tadesse Awerson. Goal is to produce more riders with this talent and thereby making Eritrea proud.
